For our first blog post, I wanted to mention a couple of updates to the website, and some upcoming things you can expect here on the Greyman Network.
What’s new
We have “officially” opened our doors to start bringing in more users onto the platform, primarily via word of mouth. If you know of communities or friends who may be interested in getting to a more free communications platform, let them know about us!
As you are already here, this is the first-ever blog post on the site, and as you may notice if you have been here before, there are a few other changes to take note of. If you have an interest in contributing to this blog, please send me a message! We would love to have more content on here.
Another addition to the site has been an affiliate link page where if you click these links prior to purchasing items from these companies, it will automatically give a small portion of your total purchase to Greyman Network. Go check it out!
What’s changed
First, we have added some links down in the footer section for ease of finding things you may need frequently on this website. In addition to that, you may notice there is an entirely overhauled home page that has some more information and looks a lot nicer.
In the navigation bar, we have added the blog tab, and added a section to the right for links to support us, and log in to the Greyman Network on your web browser.
What’s coming soon
In the coming weeks, we will be releasing a couple of things, including a bi-monthly raffle, potentially increasing to monthly if there is enough interest and desire for it. If the server grows a lot, the potential to raffle more items will be very possible. This also depends on the availability of getting items for raffles. If there are companies that wish to sponsor these raffles or donate products to be donated, please get in touch with me, we would be happy to work with you! The primary reason for this is for the users here to win cool things, but also for the network to bring in money to support future hardware, research, and development.
The second thing that will be coming soon is the addition of a bot on the server. This will be custom-built from the ground up to support some of the functionality you may have noticed on the old Discord server. Unfortunately, the systems are completely different, so it is not just a simple swap in where the bot is pointing to, it will require a new application to be developed. The feature list is to be determined, but it should bring some new utilities to the server. If you have suggestions here, please let us know!
The last two items that have been in discussions have been to provide a service where users can upload 3d printer files so that they can’t be taken down from big tech platforms, as well as investigating the feasibility of a YouTube replacement that will be able to support a variety of uses. There are no promises or timelines on these features, but they are in our thoughts and are actively being researched.
Tally Ho Lads!
